Instructions for the incorporation of Drug. (Compounding)

  • The compounding may take place on an ointment slab or with the use of a mortar and pestle.
  • Mix the drug (powder) with a few drops of isopropyl Alcohol. Be sure not to use too much Alcohol. The resultant mix should be a smooth paste. (Not runny.)
  • Levigate the paste with a portion of the Transderma base to form a smooth nucleus.
  • Incorporate balance of the base by geometric dilution.
  • Continue to mix until the gel has re-formed into an even smooth, silky consistency.
